A Trip Down Memory Lane
United States
Приєднався 9 сер 2010
I was born in the 1970s, but I love anything nostalgic and sentimental. I'm using my channel to share some great recordings from some of the most talented people of the 20th century.
This channel has been in existance since 2014. Since that time, I have loved to share my love of nostalgia. I often say I was born too late, but I love remembering the past era and being able to introduce a new generation to the music and memories of a bygone era.
I appreciate your continued support through the years. Keep the comments and suggestions coming as we take a stroll down memory lane...

I'm reading Arthur Rollini's 'Thirty Years With the Big Bands'. A great book to accompany these recordings. Many great anecdotes about being in Benny's band at this time.
Great Early Jolie novelty song!
Epic Musical Arrangement! Epic Orchestrations! Epic Recording! Epic Recording! Epic Song! Epic Vocalization by the Singing Rage Miss Patti Page!
It’s giving 1950s vibes
I love this channel - such a great song collection! Thanks!
Glad you enjoy it! Let me know if you have any requests!
Love the song and its message… 🌸🌸🌸 Thank you for many delightful uploads! 🙏🍀
I for one feel happier already… 🌞🌞🌞 Thanks for sharing! 🙏🍀
I heard Bender singing this in Fururama, I didn’t know it was a real song
Bunny! 🐰
That's my line.
You can never have too much Bunny! @@MooseCall
Had to find the real song cuz my Mimi is no longer here to sing it to me… maybe one day in heaven we’ll sing this and I’ll know all the words.. 🕊️
Thank you for sharing these delightful Dick Todd recordings! 🙏🍀 I guess this one was my favourite… 🌼🎵🎶🎵🎶🎶🎶🎵🎶🌼
i'm wondering if this is the Victor version or Transcription disc version?
I believe the Victor version
Another tune by J T I've never heard before!
I went to see Grease in 1972.
Swinging tune!
I am related to Kate smith and she had a beautiful voice
Lovely memories. I became a fan of Joan's when I was around 12 years old (1954), My Mum had died and Dad took me to the Glasgow Empire to see Joan's show. I loved her voice, joined her fan club and met her backstage at the Empire. Lovely lady and she gave me a signed photograph. I hope she had a good life. She would be proud that people like me still remember her with fondness.
Yes! My man! "Cool Daddy" Shaw...there's nothing like his clarinet playing. I guess he's like Billie Holiday in a sense...she embodies emotion with the voice and Artie embodies emotion with the clarinet. In this one, the trumpet seems to be king but I still hear that striking clarinet.💖
Quien será Daysi
Jazz innovators and the best girl group of all time.
Agreed!
Awesome Musical Arrangement! Awesome Orchestrations! Awesome Recording! Awesome Song! Awesome Vocalization by the Singing Rage Miss Patti Page!
This is one of my faves by her.
No other can compare with her.
Agreed!
A real banger.
Oh, this is delightful… a waltz… and a romantic one at that… 🌹🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶⭐️ Thank you for the lovely post! 🙏🍀
{Taking off hat, holding it high in the air} Hello!👋😃 It is a lovely post, isn't it?😌 How have you been, my dear friend?
Good. I hope you are doing well!
@@OLD_SOUL1900 Thank you, dear friend, I‘m fine… but still on an internet diet… Another friend called it „UA-cam detox“ - I like that! 🥹😅😂 I hope to be more present again in autumn. We‘ll see… depends on how the detox is working! How are you doing? (I like picturing you waving this hat - a top hat, of course, though you are female, nothing else would do…! 🎩)
@@hrbooksmusic7878 I'm fine, just fine!😁 I like that too, a "UA-cam detox". It's a great thing to step away from the technology for a time, go to the outdoors, take your shoes off, smell that air, and "ground"{this is amazing for relieving pain and quite literally connecting with mother earth} The thing with me, though, is I simply cannot live without my music...so, I've had a more "analog" instead of "digital" approach...listening to my records. My collection mostly comprises of 33rpm vinyls, I decided to go through them and am now getting rid of about 220! And it feels like an unnecessary weight is being lifted. If something no longer serves ya, let it go! 😆Only the finest, I see! That picturing is rather sweet...thanks.😊 So....I won't hear from you or see your nice comments until Autumn time?😢
@@OLD_SOUL1900 No, I’ll still be around - just not that often! 😄 Wow, getting rid of things you feel you don‘t need anymore is really something… not for most people, but I simply can‘t let go… Or let‘s say, it‘s very hard for me. I admire you!!! And now I‘ll go and connect with nature… on a nice walk with my husband! 👍 See you soon! Have a wonderful Sunday evening and a great new week! 🍀🌞🌹🌝🌺🎵🎶🎵🎶🎶🎶🎶🎵🎶
Another sweet one that I didn't know! You're on a roll. Again, my sincerest thanks for posting this one of miss Etting's for me to discover.😌 Woah! Was not expecting the tempo change at 1:25!😅 Loving that slight echo. Did you do that or is it in the recording itself?🤔
It's the record.
@@tripdownmemorylane Nice!😁
Phil Harris, Mel Blanc, and Artur Q. Bryant!!!! Together?!
Phil Harris meets Mel Blanc
Ahhh, I LOVE Ruth Etting...she's one of my top favourite female vocalists of the time. This tune is too sweet...thanks ATripDownMemoryLane for letting me discover this one.😚💖
Thanks for listening
Here's another video with Margaret Whiting & Mel Torme on Johnny Mercer with Gene Shalit, who is 98 years old: ua-cam.com/video/THXoVr_DPfE/v-deo.html
Great song and great version by the great Fats Domino.
Still one of the best swing records
Oh, don’t ever stop posting these most awesome old classics! I will be 66 tomorrow and saying all these songs with my dad! He taught me how to play the guitar starting at four years old! I have such wonderful memories! I hope our future will bring back the good old days a much simpler way of life with much more happiness, joy, peace, and love! 💖
My Grandfather instilled in me a love of this music, so I'll keep the channel going as long as possible. Let me know if you have any requests!
Wow. Toni is new to me and I love what she does here. I must hear more. And James really swings here.
Outstanding!!
Glad you like it!
One of my favoritessss
Thanks for historical and valuable music as always ❤❤❤
A singer with a talent for dramatic and comedy acting roles - this is my favorite version of this song
Thanks.
What a beauty, what a voice, miss the Big Mouth
she is criminally underrated. I think i prefer this to Franks version
the bthing is basically she was the complete package , A great female in a male dominated time
Terrific Dorsey melody, thanks for playing this gem!
No one is as good as she is when she gets going. I've loved her over years.
Rian Keating interviewed her in Aug of 1985. There's some audio problems but still you get an idea of the musical family that she came from. It was "Saturday Night at the Whitings....." Lots of big names gathered at their home. Here's the link. ua-cam.com/video/J2LwRpea3ko/v-deo.html
Ah yeah
🤯
Fr, things are quite different, new norms and all that, can't even get a normal beer.
Very talented, but under rated vocalist.
I hope that you never stop finding these gems from the dust bin of obscurity. Thank you for the wonderful bit of history to be played and enjoyed again.🤗
Our pleasure!
These Buddy Clark recordings you‘ve posted are very lovely… 🌺🎵🎶🎵🎶🎶🎶🎶🎵🎶🌺 Thanks for sharing them! 🙏🍀
Thanks for listening
@@tripdownmemorylane My pleasure! 🤩
